The Carillon Foundation
The Carillon Foundation is committed to promoting the deep-seated value of philanthropy, believes that giving can have a profound impact on the lives of ourselves and others we care about, and provides us with an opportunity to leave a personal legacy.
The Foundation, which was formed to encourage, administer, and disperse charitable funds for the benefit of the Carillon Senior LifeCare™ Community, is dedicated to taking a leadership role in treating all Carillon residents, family, and friends with human dignity. Your tax-deductible gifts are intended to enrich and empower seniors in our community to enjoy life to the fullest by:
- Providing and continuing to provide high-quality medical care.
- Providing assistance for the support of residents who are in financial difficulty.
- Supporting research directed toward a better understanding of gerontological diseases and the process of aging.
- Providing funds for the support, maintenance and care of the facilities.
- Enhancing services and programs of benefit to Carillon residents.
- Providing support for the recruitment, retention and training of qualified employees of the community.
Ways to Help
We encourage all gifts, whether large or small, that are consistent with our
mission. Everyone benefits—you, your heirs, and our community. Few
things in life are so perfectly reciprocal.
Current Gifts
Your gifts of cash and securities to any of the Carillon Foundation funds are most welcome. Gifts of appreciated stock result in more benefits because you not only receive an income tax charitable deduction, there is also a bypass of the capital gains tax.Bequests
Leaving a bequest for the Carillon Foundation in your estate plan can provide benefits to you and/or your family and allow you to make a meaningful gift. Your gift can be for a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or a remaining interest. This is an excellent way to leave a personal legacy.Charitable IRA Rollover Gifts
Through 2007, you may make a direct transfer from your IRA with no tax consequences if you are age 70 1/2 or older as a result of the Pension Protection Act. Up to $100,000, including your required annual distribution, may be used for the gift transfer. Call us for details on how your IRA custodian can initiate an IRA transfer on your behalf.Gifts That Provide Income
You may make a gift, receive a tax deduction, a bypass of capital gains, estate tax benefits and an income stream by setting up a Charitable Gift Annuity, Charitable Remainder Unitrust, or Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust. The income may be for your lifetime, yours and your spouse, or others as you may designate. The income may also be for a term of years. There are lots of choices.Gifts That Transfer Wealth
You may make a gift and pass assets to your family with significantly reduced estate and gift taxes by using a Charitable Lead Trust. Assets are transferred to a trust that pays income to the Carillon Foundation for a term of years and then transfer back to you or your heirs. Cash, securities, mutual funds, real estate, and tangible property are examples of assets that can be used to fulfill your philanthropic intentions. We would be happy to meet with you confidentially about the many opportunities that exist.
Endowments
In addition to funds that are available for current needs, the Carillon Foundation is also working to increase endowment funds, which will provide permanent funding in the Carillon community. Your gift to our general endowment will be:
- A promise to future generations that the resources they need will always be there.
- An investment in our mission to be the “best that we can be.”
- A lasting legacy of your commitment to the Carillon Foundation.
Or—consider setting up your own “named endowment” to support an area of need in our community that is “near and dear” to your heart.
